CLO RATINGS

Insulation performance is measured by CLO ratings—which is a unit of thermal resistance that indicates insulating ability. The higher the CLO value, the higher the amount of warmth a piece of clothing provides.

To determine temperature ratings, CLO factors, Metabolic Equivalent of Task (MET) and the time or duration of a task are considered. MET levels are categorized into 3 groups:

  • “Low” range (0-3 MET) // forklift driver, equipment operator
  • “Moderate” range (3-6 MET) // picking & packaging, delivery drivers
  • “Vigorous” range (>6 MET) // concrete work, tower climber

Some warehouses and facilities are more manual in nature, leading to higher MET levels, while others rely on automation, resulting in lower MET levels. GloWear 4-in-1 Hi-Vis Winter Jacket Parka with Black Bottom has a CLO rating of 1.92 and is rated at a moderate work level in -30°F // -34°C temperatures for up to 5 hours.

This high-visibility jacket is ideal for construction, transportation, baggage handling, municipalities or work near moving vehicles. It’s also great for keeping wearers safe and seen during outdoor recreational activities such as hiking, running or walking.
